THE ROLE:

The AMD Core Technology Design Team is seeking an experienced System Validation Engineer. As a System Validation engineer in the power solutions team, you will work across design team, lab teams and systems teams to validate both test chip and production silicon with an emphasis on power generation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess system level requirement and component level specifications to post-silicon validation plan.
  • Interface with production test engineers to support development of production test plans and methodologies. Ensure that test strategies are aligned with design specifications and production goals.
  • Lead and support development of post-silicon validation hardware.
  • Collect and analyze post silicon validation data, compare with silicon models and generate statistical characterization report for review will system architecture and silicon design teams.
  • Identify and resolve system-level issues that arise during the validation testing and conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Interface with technicians for equipment maintenance, rework and automation of setup for large scale data collection.
  • Provide mentoring to grow technical expertise of the team.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement for pre- and post-silicon system engineering development processes.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Strong experience of training and experience.
  • Experience in mixed-signal IC design validation.
  • Experience with IC packaging, validation and production test methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of power delivery and voltage regulation circuits.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and customer facing interaction

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
