THE ROLE:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for category planning and strategic sourcing of Engineering Design Automation Hardware. This includes developing a global procurement strategy and implementing a supplier development program that has a coordinated long-term approach on cost, quality, and service.  The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for negotiating pricing, service levels, master agreements and statements of work. Developing successful relationships with key EDA partners and internal customers, senior executives and suppliers is key.

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter and adept at identifying sourcing opportunities and driving sourcing initiatives with executives—with minimum involvement from management. Outstanding negotiation and communication skills are critical to this role! You are an excellent communicator and collaborator, who can present to all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Collaborate with business units to set cost targets for EDA Hardware and cloud services.
• Lead the strategic sourcing process, including analysis, price negotiation, cost reduction, and agreement negotiations.
• Manage supplier performance to meet contractual requirements and minimize risk.
• Develop commodity strategies that align with team requirements.
• Provide recommendations on sourcing strategies, requirements planning, and revenue generation using analytics.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and statements of work with suppliers, internal clients, and legal support.
• Utilize strategic sourcing and Procure-to-Pay processes efficiently.
• Lead Supplier Performance Management (SPM) with key suppliers and manage quarterly scorecards to review service levels on cost, technology, quality, service, and flexibility.
• Implement Source-to-Pay activities to ensure timely order issuance and invoicing.
• Support operational process execution across cross-functional and cross-site business processes.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Manage business reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Prepare executive award summaries and present for approvals.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in transitioning from capital equipment to cloud-based technologies.
• Intermediate to senior-level experience in sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for EDA Software and Hardware for a global company.
• Experience in software sourcing and negotiation in a strategic sourcing role.
• Experience in sourcing and negotiating EDA Software Hardware/Emulation Hardware in the semiconductor industry preferred.
• Experience in sourcing and negotiating cloud service and hardware lease agreements.
• Proficiency in commodity strategy planning, contract negotiation, Source-to-Pay processes, and market analytics.
• Experience with SAP Ariba Sourcing is preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Bachelor's degree is required in Business or Engineering
