THE ROLE:

As an Import/Export Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the Global Trade Compliance team, handling daily operational tasks to support business functions. Your role involves proactively guiding internal departments to ensure international trade activities adhere to relevant regulations. Key responsibilities include helping business units incorporate trade compliance requirements into their workflows, developing policies and training programs, and leading projects to improve global trade operations while minimizing compliance risks. You will also manage a record-keeping system to ensure proper filing, maintenance, and disposal of import and export documents. Additionally, you will assist with audit, investigations, due diligence efforts, and corrective actions as needed, serving as a key contact to facilitate the smooth and compliant processing of shipments.

 

THE PERSON:

An import/export specialist who is flexible and able to balance multiple priorities at once and ability to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs. With a self-driven approach, you actively participate and execute trade compliance projects. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical teams, fostering trust and building credibility.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day to day Import/Export operation related to Customs or other Import/Export regulatory body applications including but not limited to following up, and ensuring timely customs reports submission.
  • Work under direction to assist with standard import/export processes and procedures.
  • Manage a comprehensive record-keeping program for all import/export documentation.
  • Assists in communication/discussions with the Customs broker. Support certain regional or global import/export operations through data gathering, and other related tasks.
  • Supports small to medium sized projects to help implement continuous improvement on trade processes and policies.
  • Liaise with AMD's business functions to support compliance at local, regional, and global level.
  • Support internal and external self-assessments and audit commitments, including responsibilities for process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Assists with export compliance, export licensing and order screening.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5+ years of experience working in trade compliance.
  • Good knowledge of MY import and export requirements.
  • Has basic knowledge of international trade, operation and compliance.
  • Experience working in SAP and global trade management tools.
  • Flexible and able to balance multiple priorities at once and ability to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree desired.
