AMD together we advance_

THE ROLE:

The Data Center Accelerator Group is looking for a driven High Speed I/O (HSIO) Validation Engineer.  You will work on industry leading Data Center Platforms deploying AI GPUs in PCIe and AMD Infinity Fabric topologies.  This role will focus on Electrical Validation of end-to-end signal integrity (silicon to channel).  You will deliver solutions to capture and analyze KPIs for product SI quality in Validation and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) environments.  The role requires exceptional automation skills in Python, SQL database, and data visualization techniques to develop Parts Per Million (PPM) predictive statistical models.

THE PERSON:

You are a strong Python and SQL coder accustomed to collecting, managing, and analyzing very large datasets (tens of thousands).  You are an Electrical Validation Engineer familiar with building statistical DPPM projections for signal integrity KPIs in volume manufacturing.  You have a strong background in SerDes PHY IP or PCB channel designs for HSIOs at PCIE5 speeds and above.  You should feel comfortable to be hands-on with Linux-based datacenter platforms in manual and automated conditions.  As you deep dive into challenging issues, you will have the opportunity to exercise your strong skills in problem solving, technical communication, and organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Signal integrity eye margin analysis for NRZ and PAM4 signals (such as PCIE5 and PCIE6)
  • Characterize all sources of High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) variability
  • Develop Python scripts for validation and manufacturing test plan execution
  • Develop SQL database queries to manage and collect volume data from validation and manufacturing
  • Employ data analysis techniques to build statistical DPPM models and visualize KPIs (PowerBI, JMP, …)
  • Develop end-to-end HSIO Electrical Validation Test Plans for device, chip, board, and platform SI
  • Review PHY IP and PCB layout designs to identify SI design vulnerabilities

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Exceptional automation skills in Python
  • 5+ years of industry experience working with volume data analysis techniques:
    • Strong in SQL queries and Snowflake framework to manage data
    • Data visualization techniques (PowerBI, JMP, …)
    • Building PPM statistical models
  • 10+ years of industry experience working with:
    • Delivering Electrical Validation KPIs for HSIO Signal Integrity
    • PCIe Gen5+ (or equivalent interfaces)
    • Signal integrity debug techniques for IP/Chip and channel design
  • HSIO SerDes PHY and Board Channel debug techniques for Signal Integrity
  • Hands-on wth Linux-only test environments
  • Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be an independant self-starter

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
