GPU Cluster Project manager

 

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.

 

THE ROLE:  

 We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled GPU Cluster Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for requirements gathering and defining the scope of GPU cluster projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GPU cluster architectures, parallel computing, and challenges inherent in performance tuning and triaging cluster-level issues.  The team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Project Management: Work with Cluster Performance Engineering to define requirements, align on deliverables, and maintain project schedule and scope.  The focus will be on requirements gathering, risk mitigation, and removing blockers preventing successful execution. 
  • Project Definition: Every project is unique and will require creativity and subject matter expertise in identifying the key objectives, challenges and dependencies for proper scoping. 
  • Collaboration: Ensure project dependencies are communicated, understood and agreed upon with all stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on schedule and within scope.   
  • Capacity Planning: Work with infrastructure teams to ensure current and future cluster project plan requirements – equipment, space, power, cooling, etc. are being addressed. 
  • Documentation: Provide status updates during project execution and deliver  
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement monitoring tools and dashboards to track project status.  Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders.  Upon completion, publish final documentation summarizing scope, definition, test results, analysis, tuning efforts, and any other relevant findings. 
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest developments in GPU architectures, parallel processing, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in GPU cluster performance. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Detailed oriented, self-driven with a strong sense of pride and ownership. 
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively as a self-starter and as part of a team 
  • Proactively involve team members in planning, decision-making and execution efforts 
  • People management experience is desirable 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle all levels of interaction, including executive level 
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience 
  • Technical program management and customer relationship management 
  • Collaborate in problem solving and mitigating risks with Engineering, Program/Project Management, Business Units and Product Management - both internal and external 
  • Strong knowledge of productivity and project tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite 

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering 
  • Formal project management education, PMP / Scrum Master
