THE ROLE:

Our team writes large scale infrastructure and tools in C#, Perl and C++ for Windows and Linux. Our software is used during all stages of product development across multiple AMD sites and includes distributed automation and build processes, web applications and databases to track millions of records generated by thousands of systems. We are constantly adapting our software development processes (e.g. continuous integration, unit testing and TDD, code reviews) to lead the challenges we accept.

We are looking for an Experienced Software Engineer to help us develop our internal tooling, integrate with third party tools and drive forward the use of AI. The ideal candidate will have experience with full stack development and knowledge of Source Composition Analysis, system automation and process development. The successful candidate will augment the Software Integrity Team and will be responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring code scanning tools, driving the integration of 3rd party code scan tools and exploring the use of AI to enhance existing code scanning processes. An understanding of AI concepts and awareness of different AI enhanced tools is mandatory for this role. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to read and understand code in multiple languages is highly beneficial.

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter with the passion for driving large-scale technical projects, consistent record of solving highly sophisticated problems along with solid technical background. You possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational and time management skills. You are used to working independently, yet as part of a team where teamwork is of utmost importance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and develop custom code scanning tools for use across AMD
• Explore third party code scanning tools and their usefulness to our existing suite
• Lead POCs with third party tools, integrating with existing requirements management, bug tracking and SCM systems
• Enhance existing code scanning processes, including OSS license compliance and security vulnerability scanning
• Drive scanning process automations and optimizations
• Provide end user and system level support

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proven software architecture and development experience spanning the full stack (ideally: ASP.Net, Entity Framework, Angular, Blazor/Razor, React)
• Experience with source code and security vulnerabilities scanning software, such as Palamida, Black Duck, Protecode SC, FOSSID, Mend.io, etc.
• Software development experience in: C#, Typescript, (Python), Java/Groovy
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as shell scripts and Perl
• Intermediate-Expert level knowledge of K8s, Docker
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Nice to have: AI development experience with Pytorch, Tensorflow etc.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Computer Science/Engineering Degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Understanding of IP licensing principles and open source compliance
