THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead to drive the overall open source developer strategy around inference. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about open-source and a core member of at least one major project core to our overall inference at scale strategy such as CNCF projects and or part of the large Pytorch ecosystem. In addition, they would be passionate about customer workloads and show a track record of working with open-source projects to reduce friction points for those customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver a strategy for open-source contributions for a senior team of other open-source contributors with a simlar but less senior background.
- Own overall execution for a sub-group of engineers focusing on open-source
- Drive individual contributions in key projects as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 15+ years of experience
- Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
- Track record of engaging with customers and optimizing their workloads at scale.
- Contributions to major open-source projects and their ecosystem
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills
- Experience hosting developer infrastructure with major Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, OCI, OpenShift, or GCP
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Leadership in existing Open Source Foundations
- Creation of Open Source Foundations
At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
