THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced, creative, and dynamic Event Main Stage Experience Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of AMD proprietary keynotes and main stage speaking events. This role is focused on content coordination with all main stage speakers and/or their communications lead, and in parallel serves as a liaison to the production company on the run of show and all technical aspects of the mainstage production. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating logistics, managing production teams, and holistic project management, ensuring seamless execution of all stage-related activities and exceptional experiences for attendees and main stage speakers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event Content Planning and Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for speakers and hosts related to main stage events and work with content design to track progress. Collaborate with event producers, technical directors, and other stakeholders to plan and execute all aspects of the content and speakers for general sessions, including content review workback schedule, technical run of show, video content, transitions, cue-to-cue documentation, and executive briefing documents.
- Rehearsal Management: Schedule and oversee rehearsals, ensuring all participants are briefed and ready for their roles.
- Team Coordination: Prep and run weekly content review meetings. Communicate with all relevant parties to ensure the timing of content development, demo readiness, rehearsals, and other activities aligns with the overall event schedule. Partner with Global Events lead on event communications (save the dates, know before you go, etc.) and other aspects of AMD events.
- Stage Production & Logistics: Serve as speaker handler onsite and liaison to the production company to ensure all edits and updates are incorporated including speaker notes. Oversee stage transitions to ensure seamless continuity between speakers and third-party guests. Manage the scheduling of stage times, ensuring all speakers have clear timelines and necessary resources and support (e.g., A/V equipment, stage instructions, etc.).
- Technical Oversight: Work closely with the AV team to ensure all technical aspects are correctly set up, tested, and functioning properly, including microphones, projectors, screens, and other stage equipment.
- Audience Engagement & Experience: Work to create an engaging and memorable atmosphere for event attendees, ensuring the main stage aligns with the overall event theme and objectives. Implement strategies to maintain audience attention and excitement, including managing stage dynamics, music, and live interaction opportunities.
- Budget & Resource Management: Assist in budget development for the main stage experience, including costs for technical equipment, set design, talent, and other logistical needs. Track and manage resources and supplies required for main stage operations.
- Problem Solving: Quickly and effectively address any issues that arise during rehearsals or live events.
- Post-Event Content Management: Provide all main stage content to AMD University Team, Sales Enablement, Marketing and any other necessary organizations.
- Pre- and Post-Event Reporting: Maintain detailed records of event plans, Run of Show, and any changes made during rehearsals and live events. Gather and analyze feedback from past events to continuously improve the experience. Provide detailed reports on stage performance and stakeholder feedback, identifying any challenges and areas for improvement in future events.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Progressive years of experience in live event main stage management, preferably in a corporate or large-scale event setting.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including AMD executive team.
- Strong knowledge of stage design, audiovisual technology, and event production.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced, live environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating extraordinary event experiences.
- Proficiency in event management software and tools.
- Travel & availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed (up to 50%).
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in communications, event management, or a related field is preferred.
