About the Role
Passionate about spatial data and always looking for ways to improve processes? An exciting new role exists for a skilled Spatial Data Analyst that thrives in solving complex challenges to join the Global Planning team and provide GIS support to users across our regional operations.
Reporting to our Regional Spatial Manager, you will utilise your technical expertise in remote sensing and manage and maintain spatial data ensuring that it is available, easily accessible and updated accordingly. You will work closely with various teams across the business from Environmental, to Health & Safety, Community Engagement, Engineering to Exploration and provide critical services by:
Identifying and providing data from systems to safety investigations and reviews.
Providing spatial data analysis, manipulation and visualistion and supporting with map generation and technical issues.
Consulting with internal and external data suppliers and creating new spatial datasets as required.
Prioritising problem-solving activities and quantifying problem impacts whilst identifying improvement opportunities.
Continuously assessing spatial data workflows against the latest technology.

What you can bring to the role
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Spatial Science or related field.
Previous experience working with spatial data with a high level of proficiency with Esri's ArcGIS software, including spatial analysis tools and extensions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data and communicate findings effectively.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple customer priorities simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative work approach when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Previous exposure to Python in a spatial data context and data base management / SQL would be considered desirable.
A flexible work approach that will require travel to the Mining operations within the South-West region of WA.

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
