We are seeking a highly motivated maintenance leader to join our team at our Huntly Mine in the Peel region. The Maintenance Planning Superintendent will lead the planning function for all mobile and fixed plant maintenance, driving performance and results through effective team leadership and sound maintenance decision-making.

This is a residential, Monday to Friday position based at our Huntly Mining operation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all mobile and fixed plant maintenance planning activities for the Huntly site.

  • Leading and mentoring the team responsible for short- and long-term maintenance planning and scheduling.

  • Implementing and championing Maintenance Work Management best practices, adhering to corporate guidelines.

  • Providing expert support and guidance to maintenance work teams on the effective use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Contributing significantly to equipment availability and reliability through meticulous planning and scheduling of maintenance programs.

  • Proactively identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities, focusing on maintenance process enhancements within the Work Management System framework.

  • Demonstrating strong safety leadership and fostering a culture of high safety engagement across the site.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning within an open-cut mining environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve results through effective delegation and motivation.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Proficient in developing and managing maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.

  • Extensive experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS), including implementation, optimization, and user support.

  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent planning certification.

  • Highly organized and systematic with demonstrated planning and scheduling expertise.

  • Unwavering commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, including a strong understanding of relevant statutory requirements.

  • Current Western Australian C-class manual driver's license.

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra alumina refinery.
