About the Role:

Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent based out of Pinjarra Refinery we are looking for a High Voltage Technician to join our growing Electrical department in the HV team. The High Voltage Technician's main responsibility is to work with the High Voltage Co-Ordinator to ensure High Voltage maintenance and breakdowns are conducted around site in accordance with the required standards.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct work by interpreting drawings, layouts, or other specifications to install new systems, equipment, diagnose and repair and trouble shoot in existing electrical systems and equipment.

  • Recording of HV test report documentation and work pack close out, in line with site planning policies and procedures.

  • Conduct various electrical trade functions such as installations, maintenance, testing and repairs, of electrical equipment, associated with the HV electrical distribution system.

  • In conjunction with the Site Electrical Engineer, Distribution Engineer and High Voltage Coordinator develop switching programs, whilst maintaining statutory compliance.

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Completion of Certificate III in Electrotechnology.

  • Hold current WA A-Grade License

  • Completion of a Nationally Accredited High Voltage Switch Course

  • High risk license – EWP, Working at Heights, Construction White Card

  • Show existing experience and knowledge of HV apparatus and switching.

  • 5 years' electrical experience within the Alumina, Resource, Manufacturing or Heavy-Duty Industry.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, interpret blueprints, drawings and undertake maintenance and repairs to high voltage apparatus.

  • Effective time management skills, with the distinct ability to complete work whilst adhering to the required schedule of works.  

  • Sound verbal and written communication skills, with the distinct ability to work part of a high performing team.
