About the Role

Our Asset Management team have a unique opportunity for a strategic leader with expertise in reliability engineering to support and advance Alcoa's Reliability Management Framework across the global asset portfolio.

In this pivotal role reporting into our Global Mechanical and Reliability Engineering Manager, you will develop and deploy global asset strategies, implement key reliability initiatives and ensure the governance of Threat and Opportunity Management. Your key purpose and milestones will be:

  • Global Asset Strategy Development and Governance: Overseeing the governance of Threat and Opportunity Management (TOM), ensuring a structured and consistent approach across all Alcoa regions.

  • Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Developing and monitoring global KPIs for reliability, ensuring they are measurable, aligned with asset strategies, and drive sustainable improvements.

  • Collaboration and Capability Building: Creating and delivering tools, training, and frameworks to build site-level and regional capabilities in asset management, focusing on sustainable growth through the "Walk Before Run" approach.

  • Strategic Planning and Roadmap Execution: Developing and driving a 5-year strategic plan for asset management, ensuring alignment with RMF objectives, technology integration, and long-term capability building.

  • “Walk Before Run" Approach: Following a 'Walk Before Run' approach, this role ensures foundational processes are strong before progressing to more advanced reliability initiatives.

  • Defect Elimination (DE) & Opportunity Management: Driving the implementation of Defect Elimination (DE) and Opportunity Management principles to enhance asset reliability across all Alcoa locations.

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in mechanical / reliability engineering.

  • Broad operational experience across Refining and / or Mining within a leadership capacity.

  • Strong background as a reliability engineer with demonstrated expertise in asset strategy development and program implementation.

  • Demonstrated capability to influence multiple stakeholders and deploy strategic reliability initiatives.

  • An Analytical and creative approach to problem-solving with strong detail orientation.

  • Flexibility to travel across regional and global locations and attend calls in different time zones.
