About the role:
The Controller will serve as a business partner to the plant manager and will assist in the development and implementation of the strategic direction/strategies. You will ensure that all required financial statements, reports, and local, state, and Federal inquiries are prepared in a timely and accurate manner according to corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and applicable regulations and laws. This role is also responsible for the accurate planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Manage development of annual Operating Plan, forecasts and variance analysis for the location.
- Maintain financial controls to ensure the location meets Alcoa audit/ASAT/SOX requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting/forecasting/planning
- Manage communication and analysis of financial reporting to Massena lead team and find opportunities for cost reduction and sharing of best practices.
- Lead development of tools/reports to facilitate operations to meet the financial plan.
- Lead location efforts to manage working capital while maintaining location stability.
- Ensures adherence to code of conduct and corporate policy.
- Builds an environment where systems are used to accurately plan, forecast, and deliver according to expectations.
What you can bring to this role:
- 8 years detailed, hands on accounting experience in a corporate setting
- Bachelors degree in accounting (or business related major (e.g., finance) with significant accounting coursework/minor and meaningful experience)
- Strong analytical skills (financial and problem-solving), attention to detail and the ability to deliver credible advice to all levels of the organization;
- Theory and practice of financial accounting/bookkeeping, corporate accounting, including inter-company consolidations and eliminations
- Excellent digital literacy, including accounting programs (SAP, Oracle, etc.), MS Office, Smart View, ThinkCell, etc.
