About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Improvement Manager to join our WA Mining, senior leadership team based at our Mining Hub in Pinjarra. This strategic role is ideal for someone who is passionate about business improvement and strategic planning working with a portfolio of stakeholders across our mine operations.
Leading the development, and execution of business planning initiatives you will drive continuous improvement, focused on optimising processes and improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that our business plans align with Alcoa's operational philosophy. Your contributions will directly impact our success and long-term success of our Mining Operations.
Reporting to the Manager of WA Mines, you will lead a team to deleiver against key areas, including:
Align with Operational Philosophy: Understand and document the core values, goals, and operational philosophy of the organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Involve key stakeholders in the planning process to ensure the strategy meets their needs and expectations.
Gap Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis to identify gaps between current practices and desired outcomes.
Deployment Planning: Develop a detailed plan for deploying the business management systems, including timelines, resources, and responsibilities.
Training Programs: Create comprehensive training programs tailored to different levels of management and staff.
Problem-Solving Workshops: Facilitate workshops to address specific challenges and develop practical solutions.
Audit Schedule and Action Plans: Establish a regular audit schedule to assess the health of the systems and develop action plans to address any issues identified during audits.
Mentorship Programs: Implement mentorship programs to develop leadership skills aligned with best practices.
Leadership Workshops: Conduct workshops focused on leadership development and alignment with organizational methodologies.
Resource Allocation: Ensure that Production Managers have the necessary resources to apply the principles effectively.
Initiative Identification: Identify key areas for business improvement and prioritize initiatives.
Guidance and Support: Offer guidance and support to the location management team and staff during change management processes.
System Utilization: Train staff on effectively using the business management system to drive improvements.
Practical Application: Focus training on the practical application of tools and methodologies.
Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement through regular coaching and feedback sessions.

What you can bring to the role:
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, mining or a related field.
A breadth of industry experience and understanding within the mining sector.
Proven experience in business improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma etc.
Experience in setting routines, strategic planning, governance and business optimisation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor teams at all levels.
Ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to build understanding and influence change.
Strong change and project management capabilities.
