Albany Medical College seeks an individual to join our team as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Female Pelvic Medicine, and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). The Division supports the FPMRS needs of the 25 county Capital District in beautiful upstate New York. The selected physician will provide FPMRS services to patients within Albany Med Faculty Physician Group and its inpatient facilities and will participate in the education and training of fellows, medical students, and residents. The Urogynecology Division has 5 faculty members between gynecology and urology, and 2 dedicated nurse practitioners. We offer the full range of treatments for urogynecologic disorders including robotic, laparoscopic, and vaginal approaches to reconstructive surgery and the ability to perform in-office procedures.
Successful candidates should be active candidates or board certified by the American Board of OBGYN and have the ability to obtain medical licensure in the State of New York. The selected candidate should possess outstanding clinical skills and must work independently and collaboratively with other health care providers and support staff. Faculty rank appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. It is expected that the selected candidate will pursue scholarly activities that will lead to presentations at regional and national meetings, and/or publications in peer-reviewed journals.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology employs 30 outstanding physicians, 5 NP/PAs, plus supporting administrative and clinical staff. There are five clinical divisions in the department including General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Planning, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. The department supports a robust residency with 24 residents, an MFM fellowship and an FPMRS fellowship.
