Salary Range: $146,635-$246,429
Position Summary
The Sr. Director – Airfreight Operations, US is responsible for the overall management of all Airfreight Forwarding Operational activities across the USA branch network. The core responsibilities include management and standardization of all operational processes and procedures, optimizing service quality and customer satisfaction, measuring workforce productivity and oversight of all operational systems used by the airfreight organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and establish standardized operational processes across all US airfreight operations to optimize productivity.
- Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for all air import and air export operational matters as required by the branch network and IFF management.
- Manage the usage and standardization of our operational system CargoWise.
- Oversee all compliance responsibilities of airfreight operations in line with CBP requirements of a CCSF including working with vendors, TSA etc.
- Develop and establish consensus on warehouse SOP's and standards of service with internal and external providers.
- Develop and implement customer and operational SOP's that are consistent and standardized across the branch network.
- Review the existing branch airfreight operations and make recommendations on the most efficient operational setup in conjunction with local branch management.
- Monitor and establish quality procedures and KPI's including working with branches to identify areas of improvement.
- Develop and standardize airfreight job descriptions at all levels.
- Support operational requirements for our key Industry Verticals as identified by our customers and internal stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent Air Freight Management role with a multinational freight forwarding company.
- Proficiency with CargoWise or a similar freight forwarding operational system required.
- Air Cargo IATA certifications preferred.
- Solid knowledge of international freight forwarding.
- Must possess excellent communicative skills both spoken and written.
- Strong interpersonal management skills.
- Ability to communicate and gain consensus on solutions at all levels.
