Job Summary

We are looking for a full-time Clinic Manager (must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support our on-site clinic in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

The Clinic Manager will be responsible for the execution of the day-to-day operations of the occupational clinic. Responsible for providing leadership, oversight, training, development, and management of administrative processes, personnel, clerical, technical, and maintenance functions; planning and assigning duties to employees; monitoring the activities of all operating components to assure provision of high-quality patient care.

 

The Clinic Manager will work Monday-Thursday 6:30am - 5:00pm. 

 


Responsibilities

  • Staffing, scheduling, and flow of the clinic to ensure safe environment and quality patient care.
  • Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates the clinical and administrative activities of the clinic.
  • Be knowledgeable of all clinical operation requirements and applicable government regulations, DOE orders, partnership contracts, and client requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to the Medical Director and Health Services Manager and develop Strategic Initiative Plans for enhanced quality of clinic operations.
  • Works collaboratively with client staff who interact with the clinic as well as with vendors, contractors, and facility/building maintenance.
  • Manage records, files, and reports according to various governmental and practice standards.  Manage, maintain and implement a records retention and disposition program for the clinic in accordance with client policies.
  • Point of contact for all external medical interfaces.
  • Manage all occupational medical cases in collaboration with Medical Director.
  • Participate and represent the Occ Med clinic for all necessary meetings related to clinic activities.
  • Point of contact for communicating all Occ Med injuries and/or illness and updates to client management team.
  • Oversight and management of all clinic inventory and purchasing. Cost/ benefit analysis and forecasting reviewer.
  • Maintain high quality patient care and satisfaction.
  • Meet schedule and budget for assigned responsibilities.
  • Assures that staff have appropriate training and the required certifications/licensure for their assigned duties. Maintain training and keep any qualification requirements current.
  • Communicate regularly to clinic staff to implement clinic operations in a consistent, compliant, and timely manner.
  • Updates and maintains company functional clinic procedures
  • Reviews time records of all staff. Procures coverage for absent employees as appropriate.
  • Provide coverage for health provider staff as necessary including fulfilling On-Call provider needs.
  • Assures that medical equipment used is adequate in terms of currently accepted standards of medical practice, the equipment is properly calibrated as required, and that it is maintained in good working order.
  • Coordinates the overall workflow, migration, and organization of the physical clinic space.
  • Evaluates need for and effectively leads process improvement/process change projects and new and/or current initiatives.
  • Routinely reviews reports/audits results, etc. to ensure that performance is maintained.
  • Participates in recruitment, hiring, discipline, and termination of staff.  Provides timely performance feedback to supervised staff on effectiveness of planning and work progress for each individual to meet performance goals.
  • Encourages teamwork so that each individual is empowered to ensure improvements are identified and effectively implemented to maximize performance.
  • Assist the Medical Review Officer as necessary for Drug and Alcohol Control procedure. May be required to administer or assist in drug and alcohol programs. May be responsible for training other clinic staff in this role.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APRN) program or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Valid, Unrestricted license in the state of Tennessee.
  • Maintain BLS, ACLS, DEA, and DOT certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinic management experience overseeing and managing aspects of practice
  • Minimum of 7 years in an occupational health setting.
  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with the Department of Energy is desirable. 

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of clinical functions, including pre-placement and periodic employee examination programs, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses and injuries.
  • Must display a high level of interpersonal skills and interest in the field of occupational health.
  • Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of return-to-work and fitness-for-duty evaluations; employee hearing conservation; alcohol and drug abuse prevention and management; medical emergency preparedness.
  • Ability to understand, communication with, and work closely with both site Management and the Occupational Medicine Director (OMD). 

Computer Skills

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed. 

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching could be required.
  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Additional Job Information

This is a full-time position and will work from our on-site clinic in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

The work schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm. 

 

The salary range for this position is $58.00-$62.00 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
