We are committed to making a difference for our neighbors, friends, and family and our vision is to be a trusted, nationally-recognized leader of innovative, collaborative community health.    Employment Status: Part-time Working Hours: Thursday & Friday 9AM-3PM Every other Weekend: 7:30AM - 3:30PM Every other Holiday   Position Reports to: Director of Patient Access & Medical Records    SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Op-Center Coordinator, the Op-Center Technician will answer the Cisco Switchboard Console by phone or by application, overhead appropriate announcements, contact appropriate staff members and doctors and keep accurate log records which are kept neat and readable. Type and file daily information.  Monitor alarm panels. Ability to read doctor's monthly call schedule and fill out Call List accurately.  Will operate computer and peripheral equipment in order to execute the required daily operations.  Attend department meetings when scheduled.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following….other duties maybe assigned   HANDLE THE VOLUME OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CALLS WITH SPEED AND ACCURACY: Calls are consistently transferred to the requested number Calls are answered in a timely fashion Demonstrating ability to operate the use of the switchboard console by phone or by PC Application (hold, park, transfer and overhead pages). Be able to multitask – phone calls, codes, alarm panels all going off at multiple times.   RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSIGNED COMMUNICATION: Demonstrate the ability to properly send messages accurately. Understanding proper communication procedure (overhead, outlook text, Cortex, email..etc.)   ABILITY TO HANDLE ALL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: Know and execute, with little supervision, proper procedure for all Code Panels including - careflight, traumas, panic alarms, etc. Demonstrate competence in procedures associated with all DRILLS: Fire, Disaster, Active Shoot, Code Adams, etc. Must be able to read the code panel and justify which had been activated on the Simplex Annunciator Panel.   Execute of all codes need to be accurately announced:  Loud, calm, clear, etc.   HANDLE THE VOLUME OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CALLS WITH SPEED AND ACCURACY: Calls are consistently transferred to the requested number Calls are answered in a timely fashion Demonstrating ability to operate the use of the switchboard console by phone or by PC Application (hold, park, transfer and overhead pages). Communicate/Inform Supervisor, other shifts and or other departments of daily events/occurrences. Help keep policy procedure documents updated including: codes, phone directory, fax sheet, doctors information, call list manual, etc.    OPERATE COMPUTER/EQUIPMENT TO EXECUTE THE REQUIRED DAILY COMPUTER OPERATIONS. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge how to open, process/execute and exit all necessary software as assigned per shift.   ABILITY TO ADAPT TO NEW PROCEDURES, SUCH AS: Alarms, different paging devices, computer jobs, etc. Understanding and learning new procedures within 7 working days. Ability to understand commands on computers when it concerns pressing buttons, flipping switches, loading paper,etc.   PHONE ETIQUETTE: Strict confidentiality on and off the job regarding patients Courtesy when handling all types of callers. Maintaining a good working relationship with doctors and hospital staff.   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
