Description

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Intercultural Programs' events and activities, with a special emphasis on cultural heritage celebrations. Support the persistence of international student enrollment by facilitating, assessing, and developing transitional and cultural programs for international students. Develop outreach and programming efforts to foster global awareness, cultural appreciation, and the development of intercultural competence among all UT Dallas students (international and domestic), faculty, and staff.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with three years of relevant experience with college students or adolescents in community groups in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience totaling at least seven years.



Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in student Affairs, Higher Education, or International Studies and one to three years of experience in a higher education setting, preferably in Student Affairs.
  • Previous international experience and/or serving international student populations.
  • Previous experience with programming and promoting events for college populations


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director, plan, coordinate, and facilitate Intercultural Programs events, and activities. Activities include but are not limited to cultural heritage celebrations, International Student Orientation, iFriend, International Week, cultural trips, international spouse and family support, and workshops, among others.
  • Network and collaborate with campus partners, community partners, and student leaders to establish, plan, and administer co-sponsored programs.
  • Supervise student workers including providing training, guidance, and constructive feedback.
  • Provide guidance and resources for new and continuing international students.


Additional Information

Remote Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote -once weekly/partly in-office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
