Director of Development Details
Essential Job Duties:
This Director-level role offers an exciting opportunity for an innovative and driven individual to lead our community engagement efforts and make a profound impact on our fundraising success and community relationships.
Strategic Fundraising Leadership:
- Design and implement innovative annual fundraising campaigns targeting gifts under $10,000, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize performance.
- Lead the annual employee campaign, fostering staff engagement and commitment to the organization's mission and giving goals.
- Oversee the planning and execution of high-profile fundraising events, including the annual golf outing, ensuring successful logistics, marketing, and fundraising outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate donor stewardship events that enhance relationships and ensure ongoing donor engagement and support.
- Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to amplify awareness and participation in fundraising initiatives.
- Provide strategic direction and collaboration with organized volunteer groups, providing guidance and support for their fundraising efforts, events, and activities.
Marketing and Communications:
- Create and implement strategic marketing campaigns that effectively communicate fundraising initiatives and the organization's mission to a broader audience.
- Oversee the development of promotional materials, including digital content, social media strategies, and website updates, to enhance visibility and drive engagement.
- Manage the organization's online presence, ensuring that all digital platforms convey a compelling narrative about fundraising efforts and donor impact.
Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, developing personalized engagement strategies that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Design and implement comprehensive donor recognition programs, ensuring impactful communication of the outcomes resulting from their contributions.
- Generate insightful donor reports and communications that demonstrate the organization's impact on community well-being and donor contributions.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive records of donor interactions, event participation, and fundraising metrics.
- Analyze fundraising data to assess performance and inform future strategic decisions, adjusting campaigns and initiatives as necessary.
- Prepare regular updates and detailed reports for leadership on fundraising outcomes, community engagement metrics, and overall effectiveness of outreach strategies.
- Uphold the highest data integrity and confidentiality standards, adhering to the Donor Bill of Rights, AHP standards, and IRS guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in creating, leading, and implementing fundraising strategies within a nonprofit organization.
- Demonstrated success in leading fundraising campaigns and managing high-impact events.
- Strong experience in developing marketing strategies, managing digital communications, and employing social media for donor engagement.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and inspire donor support.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing team members.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, fundraising software/databases, and digital marketing platforms.
