Description
Full time, Day/Evening shifts.
- The Lead CST provides quality phlebotomy services in order to obtain appropriate specimens for lab testing.
- The Lead CST provides high quality patient care while performing urgent and routine EKGs.
- Recognizes panic level abnormal cardiac rhythms and/or vital signs and communicates findings to the cardiology department.
- In addition, the Lead CST performs a variety of technical assignments in the pre-analytical phase of testing.
- Has a working knowledge of the safety standards and properly uses them when processing specimens.
- Exercises moderate skill, judgment, knowledge of terminology & common practices used in the pre-analytical technical field to insure accurate results & patient safety.
- Processes and interprets information involving laboratory specimens in order to insure proper testing and specimen integrity.
- The Lead CST maintains a professional and courteous rapport with all customers and clients.
Qualifications:
- 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- Candidate must be compliant with system policy for attendance and punctuality and currently not in progressive discipline.
- Lab management approval that candidate displays behaviors that promote teamwork, quality and positive atmosphere.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Lab assistant or phlebotomy certificate preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility/Supervision Received:
- The Lead CST acts as a Technical resource in the absence of the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
- Assists with scheduling, evaluations, training & progressive discipline as needed.
- Works under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and the Operations and Quality Systems Manager.
Pay Range: $19.95 - $25.20
Starting Pay: Based on Experience
