Description
We are a first-class, leading Periodontal surgery office looking to add an outgoing individual who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care on a part-time basis (2-3 days) in our Swampscott location. This is an hourly (non-production based) position.
The Hygienist's primary role is to support the Periodontist by providing exceptional patient care that results in optimal clinical outcomes and exceeds our patients' expectations. Hygienists at our practice focus on all aspects of patient care, provide direct care to their patients and, if interested, get the opportunity to assist in surgical care.

Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate care that exceeds patient's expectations
- Review patient medical history and accurately assess patient oral health condition
- Acquire dental imaging, including radiographs, CBCTs and 2D photographs
- Assemble materials and equipment in preparation for treatment and maintain adequate supplies
- Perform typical pre-operative and post-operative duties to facilitate patient care, including set-up and breakdown of treatment room in accordance with infection control protocols to maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Perform typical dental hygiene procedures to facilitate patient care, including teeth cleaning, scaling, polishing and periodontal charting
- Educate patients on proper oral care techniques and preventative measures
- Prepare, administer, and record medications/anesthetic in accordance with all applicable regulations
- Monitor and maintains aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Operate sterilization equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records as required, maintaining confidentiality of all information in compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Dental Hygienist License, required
- Active Massachusetts Dental Hygienist Anesthesia Permit (L), strongly preferred
- Active BLS Certification, preferred
