Job Details
• Experience with vascular surgery population, as that is our heavy population
• AAA repair
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Fem-pop bypass and similar surgeries
• Thrombectomy
• Experience with carotids, pneumonectomy, post thoracic surgery
• Experience with evar, intra aortic balloon pump, TAVR
• Ratios: 1:2-3 for Unit patients, 1:4-5 for step-down acuity
• First-timers Accepted: No
• Open to accommodating block schedule? Open to discussion, cannot promise
• Guaranteed Hours: per facility standard
• This is a mixed acuity unit
• Job details: Can float to stepdown
• Max ratio is 1:4- 1:5 and as low as 1:2, varying on the acuity of the patient
• Travel experience required
• Assessment tools: Stroke signs/symptoms competency (ex. BE-FAST)
• NIHSS Certified (current certificate on file, obtained within 2 years of start date)
• Bedside Dysphagia screening competency (on file)
• Minimum 1-year experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit preferred
• Familiar with current Stroke guidelines and performance measures for Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes
• Orientations every Monday

• State licensure: KY/Compact in hand
• Meditech experience preferred
