The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking an air, remediation, and wastewater engineer with project management experience in our Billings, MT office. The selected individual is expected to provide air permitting and waste permitting services, remediation system design and operation oversight, and wastewater treatment engineering services for commercial and industrial clients. The selected individual is expected to define and perform project tasks in a cost-effective and time efficient manner as well as provide project oversight. This position may have a hybrid work arrangement, but the candidate must reside within 5 miles of the local Billings, MT office.

Your Role:
- Work within project teams to provide expertise on remediation, water quality and air quality and apply those elements to assist clients in these practice areas.
- Provide air permitting and compliance support including application preparation, emissions calculations, regulatory analyses, and problem solving for industrial clients.
- Evaluate emission control strategies for industrial sources that include both air quality and remediation.
- Interact with various state agencies on behalf of clients where required.
- Conduct site visits to client locations.
- Maintain close client contact to ensure all project deliverable's meet or exceed client needs and expectations.
- Execute superior project management – scope, schedules, budgets, and subcontractor oversight.
- Manage multiple project schedules and competing deadlines.
- Proficient technical writing and presentations on regulatory concepts, trends, and emerging issues.
- Prepare proposals, attend conferences and industry events, and perform other business development activities to help grow our client base.
- Prepare site specific risk-based standards analyses as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field required. Advanced degrees preferred.
- 25+ years of experience in technical and/or project management for engineering/air quality/water quality projects.
- Ability to apply for Professional Engineer license within 2 years.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Strong background in environmental/air quality analysis and support highly desired.
- Willingness and capabilities to mentor and lead junior staff.
- Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and GIS or CAD software a bonus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to think and act critically and strategically.
- Solid organizational and time management skills.
- Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment.
- Unwavering personal and professional integrity.
- A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $80.00 / hour to $100.00 / hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
