The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Principal Environmental and Transaction Advisor (Advisor) with high-level expertise in coordinating with clients and developing innovative, value-added strategies and solutions for complex commercial environmental regulatory obligations and transactions. Responsibilities for this role include developing and nurturing relationships with external and internal clients, as well as principal oversight of complex environmental due diligence around the client's deal cycle, including environmental compliance and client operations resilience evaluations. Success will be measured in the effectiveness of the Advisor's strategic planning and implementation services that result in a high level of value to our clients. This success includes the development of long-term client relationships, meeting revenue goals for Tetra Tech and its shareholders, and contributing to successful business strategies both internally and externally. The Advisor will have the opportunity to pursue work in a diverse set of market sectors and practice areas with a core focus area involving client transactions. The Advisor will collaborate with Tetra Tech teams to integrate other technical services offered by Tetra Tech into the services offering to the Advisor's portfolio of clients, promoting a full-service offering making our services indispensable to our clients' businesses. The position can be performed remotely from in or near a major U.S. metropolitan hub city. The position involves periodic travel to meet with clients and Tetra Tech team members.

Your Role:
- Rapidly integrate yourself into Tetra Tech to understand and leverage Tetra Tech's diverse resources and service offerings in your associated practice areas. Collaborate with operations and technical focused team members to advance business development, program and project implementation, and practice area strategies and goals.
- Work with operational leadership to develop strategies for profitable growth and within the candidate's key technical practice area, ancillary practices areas, and other areas of mutual interest.
- Provide senior leadership support to Tetra Tech's end-to-end commercial business advisory services related to environmental due diligence and sustainability engagements for complex and multi-site portfolios for clients.
- Steward high-quality delivery and timely completion of projects that meet project margin goals.
- Recognize and analyze potential environmental impact and compliance issues, as well as legacy environmental liabilities. Recognize potential future sustainability and resiliency strategy, design and implementation opportunities and obligations that intersect with client portfolios and transaction activities.
- Build and maintain strong strategic partnering relationships with key commercial clients and corporate investors such that Advisor can actively identify and pursue opportunities for business development and client expansion, and cross sell services outside of candidate's technical practice area.
- Provide programmatic support and oversight for interdisciplinary services that are provided to the candidate's client base with an eye toward growth of the overall service portfolio provided. Provided services should result in client's desire to continue and grow business relationship with Tetra Tech.
- Serve as the Senior Account Lead for multiple client accounts selected as strategic pursuits. Meet client needs and provide high value services.
- Provide senior leadership support to Tetra Tech's commercial due diligence and sustainability and resiliency practices focusing on your area of expertise. Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior staff to help advance their business and technical acumen, and communication skills.
- Participate in Tetra Tech's Key Account Management Program, industry initiatives, and environmental, sustainability, and due diligence strategy groups.
- Capitalize on industry relationships/ expertise/ professional network to maintain and establish new relationships and ensure they are managed for growth under the Key Client Account Program.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer behavior.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in environmental science or civil/ environmental/ chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Twenty years of program/ project management direct experience in the environmental and transaction advisory practice areas. Demonstrated experience leading and delivering global commercial due diligence projects at a senior level.
- Understanding of various commercial industries, including but not limited to manufacturing, technology, energy, consumer goods, and financial services.
- Experience working across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary solutions for a variety of market segments and cross selling services outside of the candidate's technical focus area.
- Dynamic, self-starter with successful experience with team and program-level leadership, business development, and strategic planning focused on the commercial and industrial market sectors.
- Direct proven account growth and management experience on accounts greater than $1M.
- Aptitude to perform operational leadership support and mentoring of emerging senior project managers and junior staff. Demonstrated experience in managing project and group finances with strong profitability.
- Strong network of clients and long-standing established relationships.
- Ability to delegate project and operation tasks to more junior team members to effectively utilize candidate's strengths is essential.
- Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective communications, reports and presentations to customers and management.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $140,000 to $160,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
