The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is currently seeking an Environmental Science Intern in the Ann Arbor, MI office. This is a paid internship that provides the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in various aspects of environmental site investigation and remediation field that focuses on wetland delineations and ecological surveys. This position may have hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the Ann Arbor, MI office.

Your Role:

Duties will include field work, including sample and data collection, wetland delineation, and habitat assessment. Office work will require the ability to summarize environmental data for input into technical reports, permit applications and create accurate data tables, filing and general office administration.

Qualifications:

  • The position is open to students, or graduates with a 4-year or higher degree in geology, environmental engineering or science, geographic information systems, geography, physical/chemical sciences, biology, and related environmental disciplines from an accredited university.
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, Global Positioning System (GPS), AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Current 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to traverse large terrain, over uneven ground, in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel and perform field work (approx. 50-75% of travel required).
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
