Your Role
The selected candidate will work with federal, state, and or local government projects nationwide. You will be responsible for:
• Prepare, implement, and oversee cost estimates, progress reports, staffing, and invoicing.
• Manage multiple projects dealing with hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint, mold, universal wastes, etc.).
• Manage a heavy workload with multiple project teams.
• Plan project elements such as reviewing, analyzing, integrating, interfacing and coordinating federal, state, local, and regional contingency and emergency response plans, and protocols.
• Supervise staff, provide expert guidance, recommendations, protocols, technologies, equipment, materials, and personnel for implementing projects.
• Responsible for the compliance of health and safety protocols for projects and work sites. This includes but not limited to human health risk and exposure assessments, ecological risk assessments and the ability to implement and perform mitigation measures and services.
• Determine federal, state and local environmental laws and statutes for projects.
• Lead and mentor those with less experience to build successful project teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of professional project management and environmental science experience. You will also have experience / be / have:
• Support investigation and remediation for CERCLA and/or RCRA sites.
• Experience with Department of Defense projects (NAVFAC/USACE) and requirements a plus
• Proficient technical writer in the preparation of various sized technical reports (phase I and II, remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality)
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor those with less experience to build successful project teams.
• Project management in the environmental industry with demonstrated experience conducting site investigations, remedial investigations, and practical field experience performing multi-media sampling including groundwater, soil, and soil gas.
• Prepare a variety of technical reports including technical specifications, health and safety plans, air sampling plans, survey plans, and oversight reports.
• Develop work scopes and preparing proposals.
• Problem solving and management skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with colleges, clients, project teams, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Highly motivated, client focused, and work well in a team environment
In addition, you must be able to access any Department of Defense facility, this may involve criminal background checks.
Degree / Certifications
• BA/BS degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e.g., geology, biology, hydrology, health physics) from an accredited United States college or university is required.
• MS degree in environmental sciences or physical sciences (e.g., geology, biology, hydrology, health physics) from an accredited United States college or university is a plus.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety certification is a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires roughly 20% travel. You must be able to:
• Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
• Conduct necessary fieldwork in a variety of environments and topography.
• May require weekend and/or overnight travel.
• Work in outside during all seasons, in all types of weather both hot and cold.
• Perform excavations using hand tools.
• Lift and carry heavy field equipment, 25 to 35 pounds.
• Don up to HAZWOPER Level C personal protective gear as needed.
• Work at a computer in an office environment for office-based tasks.
NOTE: All work related travel is reimbursable.

The Salary Range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
