As part of the firm's ongoing commitment to best-in-class technology, Cosentini Associates, a Tetra Tech company, is hiring a Director, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)/Building Information Modeling (BIM). The Director will be responsible for maintaining and continually developing the firm's VDC and BIM tools, workflows, and standards in collaboration with Cosentini's engineering staff. Your Role:
• Innovate and implement tools and workflows that provide increased automation of Cosentini's existing workflows and processes.
• Maintain and develop content for the firm's library of BIM Content to align with the firm's BIM/VDC standards, allowing seamless coordination between our various design disciplines.
• Lead internal BIM committee in maintaining BIM production standards for all Cosentini offices.
• Maintain familiarity with currently accepted standards and methods for construction in the building industry. Monitor trade related publications to identify emerging technologies that may impact how Cosentini delivers projects. Work with management to develop strategies to implement those technologies.
• Work to expand Cosentini's existing toolset of software and technology to improve efficiency during the design and construction phases of projects. Serve as point person to maintain devices/equipment that are utilized. Train staff in the use of new equipment.
• Collaborate with clients to develop project BIM execution plans and facilitate their implementation into projects.
• Create and periodically lead training sessions for the firm's engineers and designers to roll out new tools and workflows as they become available. Conduct orientations for new employees to familiarize them with the firm's standards.
• Represent the firm's BIM/VDC capabilities at client interviews.
• Advise senior management on the firm's long-term technology strategy.
• Manage the VDC/BIM department with all duties and responsibilities associated.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
• B.S. candidate in Architecture, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Proficiency and minimum 5 years of experience working directly with the MEP disciplines, working for an Architecture or Engineering firm.
• Ideally the candidate will work in our New York City office, but other locations will be considered.
• Talent for improving & automating processes to be more efficient and user friendly. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to develop custom content for Revit including coding in the .NET API, and Dynamo to assist engineering staff with automating tasks and increasing efficiency.
• General familiarity with electrical and mechanical calculations, with an in-depth knowledge of how they can be executed in Revit, or seamlessly between Revit and other software programs.
• Expertise with Revit as demonstrated by sophisticated use of software beyond just modeling, such as creation of families, schedules, parameter management, view template management, viewports, HVAC load calculations, etc.
• Experience with training and managing a BIM team.
• Have willingness to learn the company's business and industry.
• Ability to occasionally travel to other Cosentini offices to conduct training / orientations.
• Knowledge of other parametric, fabrication or coordination tools a plus.
• Familiarity with processing & working with laser scans and point clouds a plus.
• Strong technical skills, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of creating AutoCAD, ISP, CUIX, etc.
• Knowledge of customizing AutoCAD's User interface.
• Proficient in creating customized “smart” Revit families to work with in house plugins and settings.
• Proficient Knowledge of Autodesk BIM360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud; creating projects, managing models, managing project hubs, working with consultants on insuring access, etc.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Build, with respects to project management and “Plan Grid”.
• Knowledge of Matterport and other special imaging cameras.
• Knowledge of translating, converting, and linking point cloud files into Autodesk Recap or similar software.

Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. 
Salary Range: $100k-$135K
