Data Analyst/GIS Analyst
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a full-time, highly talented, motivated, Data analyst/GIS Analyst for our Denver, CO office. The successful candidate will provide technical support on a variety of projects and programs, including support for federal, state, and local government contracts, as well as commercial clients.
There is potential for hybrid/remote work from a location within 2 hours ground commute from Denver. Remote work is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Your Role:
- Analysis, conversion, and publication of geospatial data primarily related to water.
- Wastewater, stormwater, and electrical utilities.
- Work as a member of geospatial team assisting in delivery of engineering projects utilizing a variety of geospatial tools and applications.
- Assist in developing and customizing geospatial applications COTS tools and/or customized solutions.
- Use advanced data management tools to automate repetitive processes and improve data quality and visualization products.
- Research records, collects data, and performs field work to verify engineering drawings, CAD, and GIS information.
- Occasional travel for field work on project sites
- Occasionally may require providing training presentations, preparation of standard operating procedures, and other consulting activities.
- Occasional Civil 3D production work may be required.
- Assist in advancement our smart master planning initiative with creative data analysis and visualization
Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S. in IT, GIS, Engineering, or related degree (Science / Engineering) required.
- 2+ years of experience with GIS and web-based mapping application development skills as well as working knowledge of SQL Server and other relational database systems.
- Introductory to intermediate level experience with Python scripting and/or Arcade language to aid in data analysis.
- Basic Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3d.
- Introductory to intermediate level experience with ArcGIS Pro, and general cartography and map production skills
- Introductory level experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, including the use of ESRI experience builder, languages and API's currently supported by ESRI including REST Services, Python, HTML, CSS, JSON, and Javascript.
- Experience using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server 10.8 or higher (Experience Builder, Story Map, Field Maps, Survey123), as well as geodatabase design and management skills is preferred.
- Ability to read Engineering drawings
- Desire to learn new geospatial technologies and applications related to asset management, business risk evaluations, and master planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Office365 cloud-based environments and applications with a focus on collaborative tools and workflow automation; including MS Access, MS SharePoint tools, Power BI, JavaScript, Python, R, SQL and DAX.
- Database skills (e.g. Microsoft Access and SQL Server), a working knowledge of SQL, and experience using ESRIs ArcGIS on-line web-based GIS environment.
- Developing digital data collection tools is useful and a plus, including ESRI's Survey123, QuickCapture, Collector, and Workforce, and Microsoft Forms, PowerApps, etc.
- Data manipulation and as well as data analysis/task automation experience (e.g. Python, ArcPy, R, VBA, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
- Bend, kneel, stand.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 40lbs.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions, both hot and cold.
Walk and stand on various, uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
May require some evening and weekend work.
Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
The Salary Range for this position is $60,000 - $78,000 depending on skills and experience
