Description
Tetra Tech Inc. Disaster Recovery (TDR) is currently hiring for Logistics Specialists. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for organizing and managing the fulfillment of orders and product/service delivery during disaster response and recovery. This function ensures that crucial supplies and resources are delivered to impacted regions on time and efficiently, while also ensuring that warehouse operations run smoothly during an emergency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Plan, asset track and schedule, the delivery of materials, equipment and resources to disaster-affected areas and/or affected individuals.
o Coordinate with members, providers, and emergency response teams to ensure timely and accurate shipments/deliveries.
o Collect and share information on any incidents/warnings to management via reporting.
o Support the Warehouse with managing the current and returned inventory (data/documentation log).
o Prepare and process the completion of warehouse orders, returned equipment and supplies in a timely fashion.
o Receive and store goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
o Perform routine inventory checks and notify management of low inventory on key operational items.
o Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of warehouse.
o Support all project staff with various administrative duties.
o Work with Project Manager and other key staff to ensure accurate and timely completion and submit of reports and other documentation.
o Meet time constraints and client expectations of the timing of deliverables.
o Office suite proficiency (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Word experience required)
o Must have proficient verbal and written communications skills with the ability to receive and execute instructions with staff members and management.
o Work attentively with minimal supervision and have extraordinary attention to detail
o Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 lbs. with/without assistance.
o Comfortable working in a warehouse environment which may reach high temperatures during summer months.
o Ability to work long-hours on short notice, including weekends, to support emergency response field operations.
o Primarily stationed onsite at the EOC and travel to warehouse or other designated locations, depending on project requirements.
The ideal candidate will preferably have:
o Maintain reliable attendance
o Strong Organizational & Problem Solving Skills
o Discretion and Confidentiality
o Experience driving box trucks
o Experience towing pull behind trailers
o Proficiency at using Microsoft Excel is a plus
Standard Schedule:
o 8 AM to 5PM, up to 7 days a week to cover disaster response operations
o This is a temporary assignment
Pay: $22/hour
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
