Summary

The SPA Post Close Associate ensures loan files are complete and works with loan team members to create proper dialogue and accurate loan documentation while balancing service, quality, compliance, and relationship building.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Books SPA loans within the loan system.
  • Tracks the receipt of original loan documents.
  • Images loan documentation and daily processing items.
  • Processes and mails loan overpayment checks, loan correspondence, and returned mail.
  • Prepares paid files for shipping to storage.
  • Moves incoming wires to the appropriate folders.
  • Images daily check payments through Item Capture.
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping client information confidential.
  • Handles basic issues and escalates more complex problems to more senior associates.

Qualifications

  • Understand and comply with all regulations, including the Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational skills and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of industry regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, Truth-in-Lending laws, etc.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma required or equivalent experience. 
  • No experience required. 1+ years' experience in a financial institution preferred. 

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
