The Data Security Engineer II is a front-line member of the Data Security team that has responsibility for protecting corporate information assets. The Data Security Engineer II assists in maintaining technology and process solutions for the protection of Stifel data.
What We're Looking For
• Assist in deploying and managing technology and process solutions to reduce the potential of data compromise
• Assist with developing technical requirements, evaluating vendor solutions, and testing of data security solutions
• Utilizes security tools to enhance data loss prevention capabilities across the Enterprise
• Performs data protection monitoring and reporting, analyzes security alerts and escalates security alerts to local support teams.
• Prepares status reports to develop security risk analysis scenarios.
• Assist in documenting standard operating procedures and protocols for the Data Security Pillar
• Assist in the development of technical solutions and processes to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
What You'll Bring
• Understanding of how to identify and prioritize security incidents and/or escalate to management or other team members.
• Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Understanding of end-user technology and proven troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to systematically assess a problem or situation to accurately identify probable causes and solutions.
• Understanding of a broad range of IT disciplines that would impact overall security posture.
• Fundamental understanding of IP-based networking and networking components, including monitoring tools.
• Proficiency in relating complex technical situations to non-technical customers.
Education & Experience
• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
• Minimum Required: 2-4 years' experience in an information technology or information security role

- Minimum Required: None
Systems & Technology
• Understanding of data security solutions such as data loss prevention, classification or discovery tools
• Experience working with or implementing endpoint and network security solutions in an enterprise and strong experience with DLP platforms and controls.
• Experience with ticketing systems
• Experience with office productivity, reporting, and technical documentation software
• Exposure to systems monitoring tools and logging tools
• Numerous versions of Microsoft Windows and Web Browsers
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
