We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Overview:

As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Labor in their digital transformation efforts. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including technical teams and security experts, to ensure the smooth operation of digital systems and the development of innovative solutions. While current modernization efforts are underway (through May 2026), this position is anticipated to be 100% on site in Montpelier. After this period, this position is part of a team that is currently 80/20 remote, meaning we are in the office 1 day per week. For in-office days, the position will be in Montpelier.
The successful incumbent of this position will learn, maintain, and support a modernized system for the Department of Labor's Unemployment Insurance program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilization of ticketing and inventory systems
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues effectively
- Preparation of clear and accurate reports
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Customer/user assistance
Skills:
- Proven experience with RBAC and user support
- Knowledge of cloud-native application development principles.

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular work schedule may be expected.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science;
OR
Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
OR
Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
