AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. Class DefinitionSupervisory, administrative and technical work in a district office of the Department for Children & Families/Economic Services Division of the Agency of Human Services involving oversight of the determination and review of client eligibility for assistance programs. Duties involve staff supervision, training and support, interpretation of policies and regulations, assistance in administration of a district office, and participation in the implementation of Welfare-To-Work's various programs. Supervision is exercised over a staff of Benefits Specialists, Human Services Case Aids, Program Service Clerks, and Reach Up Case Managers. Work is performed under the supervision of an Economic Services District Director. All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation.
Environmental FactorsDuties are performed primarily in a standard office setting within a district office. Some travel may be necessary, for which private transportation must be available. Stressful interaction with upset or emotional clients may occur. Staff workload may frequently be heavy.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.
OR
Associates degree AND three (3) years as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.
OR
Bachelor's degree or higher AND one (1) year as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.
