  • A hospital in Idaho is in need of a Labor and Delivery RN to work a 13 week travel assignment.
  • The nurse will be working 12 hour shifts.
    Job Requirements
  • Ideal candidates must have 3 years L&D experience
  • Skills in pre-term labor, c-sections and recoveries, and high-risk patients.
    Schedule Information
  • The nurse will be working 12 hour shifts.
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 06:50-19:20 and 1850-0720am, we put them where the needs are
  • Weekend Requirements: Where the needs are we put our traveler
  • Holiday Requirements: We try to not schedule travelers but there may be an occasional time we need to do that
  • Floating Requirements: Yes we float to the Meridian, Nampa hospitals and have to sit with pts on other floors.
    Unit Specific Information
  • L&D/PP/MB (LDRP)
  • 2yrs experience required
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Preeclampsia, Previa, Twins, Diabetics
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: LDR, circulate the OR
    Additional Details
  • # of L&D Beds: 16 and 13 Antepartum beds
  • # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3
  • # of Triage beds: 8
  • # of Postpartum beds: 32 beds on Mother Baby Care Unit on another floor. We are on the 2nd floor.
  • # of Births per day? Month? Year?: 4194 deliveries in 2023-anywhere from 320-400 per month
  • Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?: Yes
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Pitocin, and Insulin
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin commonly used-1-20ml/units, may go up to 40 ml/units
  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes, charge does not take pts unless absolutely no nurses
  • Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Duties?: CSTs every shift
  • OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: OB Laborist 24/7, Neo's also
  • Anesthesia in house 24/7?: Yes, we have a designated CRNA 24/7
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No tel techs-if we have pts on Tele the Tel Techs read the cardiac strips
  • EFM System: Centricity Perinatal-GE
  • Scrub Color/Dress code: We supply scrubs
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 shift in each area-LD, Antepartum, and LD OR
