The Senior Clinical Programs Advisor/Pharmacist plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of standard and custom formularies at SS&C. This position focuses on ensuring clinical appropriateness, accuracy, and consistency in formulary management, particularly in relation to Medicare Part D. The advisor will support clinical workgroups and enterprise formulary initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and compliance standards. The Senior Clinical Programs Advisor/Pharmacist is essential for ensuring the effectiveness and compliance of formulary management across the enterprise.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Review and validate clinical requests for benefit configuration changes, ensuring understanding of their intent and communicating details to internal stakeholders, including Data/Benefits Analysts.
  • Collaborate with Business SMEs to clarify issues and set priorities with Delivery Team Leads.
  • Provide clinical support instructions, ensuring successful product acceptance and adherence to escalation procedures.
  • Analyze metrics, approve process improvements, and review configuration and test results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance formulary management systems and support clinical activities that meet client needs.
  • Assist in coordinating formulary activities, ensuring compliance with policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Offer expert consultation in formulary decision-making, contributing to ongoing improvements and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate the submission of Part D formularies and review HPMS guidance in collaboration with compliance teams.
  • Guide internal partners on downstream formulary activities, including adjudication and communications.
  • Identify and analyze problems, producing results by establishing timelines and steps.
  • Negotiate resolutions for significant or controversial issues, influencing and motivating others to achieve outcomes.
  • Plan and coordinate work efforts, ensuring progress across multiple projects.

What You Will Bring:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Licensed and registered Pharmacist (RPh) in good standing in the state of residence.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Pharmacist experience in a managed care setting, including knowledge of drug information. Managed care settings may include Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM), national or regional health plans, and large self-insured employer groups.
  • General understanding of database and data management as this person will be managing drug files.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically strong Excel skills as well as Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with formulary management in commercial Medicare and/or Medicaid environments.
  • Familiarity with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee decision-making process.
  • Deep understanding of Medicare Part D regulations and practices.
  • Must have client interaction and be comfortable presenting on a regular basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to timelines.
