What You Will Get To Do:

The Product Owner supports coordination across our rapidly growing client and product portfolio in the Australian market. The role ensures the Product team can assess the impact of regulatory changes across all clients, products, and systems—keeping clients informed of how these changes may affect their business.

It also plays a key role in maintaining compliance of our technology and operational processes with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Define detailed product specifications for agreement with senior stakeholders and to guide development teams in building compliant solutions for regulatory change.

  • Own and prioritise the compliance backlog, ensuring change impacts, dependencies, and timelines are clearly understood and communicated.

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients on compliance matters, providing regular updates on upcoming changes, proposed solutions, and timelines—incorporating feedback where appropriate.

  • Identify and maximise commercial opportunities arising from regulatory changes, including the potential for new products or services.

  • Ensure compliance solutions are aligned with the broader product roadmap and business strategy.

  • Manage cross-functional relationships with regulators, product managers, architects, developers, compliance, business owners, and other key stakeholders.

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and manage escalations, collaborating across internal SS&C teams and with external clients to drive resolution.

What You Will Bring:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian financial services industry, including superannuation and wealth management regulations and obligations

  • Proven experience in compliance and product management

  • Strong background in product development within an iterative/agile environment

  • Experience analysing market research and identifying industry trends and benchmarks

  • Ability to confidently engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capability

  • Clear communicator, able to articulate product requirements and desired outcomes effectively

  • RG146 certified
