Qualifications

 Required Qualifications:

  • Trade expertise in one or more of these areas:  CNC or traditional machining, castings and foundry, QA/QC, welding, shipfitting, shipbuilding, or other manufacturing trades
  • 3+ years experience managing or leading workforce development, skilled trades development, career technical education, or training efforts surrounding skilled trades education, Career Technical Education (CTE), trade schools, or technical community colleges
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders and support senior decision making
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to analyze information and communicate to decision makers
  • Eligible for a DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Additional Qualifications Desired, but not required:

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, education, management, engineering or other relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working on Navy, submarine, or undersea related programs - especially nuclear shipbuilding or acquisition efforts
  • Current DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience developing or implementing supply chain, industrial base, or manufacturing improvement and risk reduction initiatives.


Responsibilities

The Workforce Development Manager will serve as regional lead and strategic advisor for a high profile client organization, carrying out rigorous efforts to strengthen the submarine manufacturing industrial base with a focus on development of the skilled trades workforce. You will apply a strong familiarity with workforce development and defense manufacturing organizations, processes, and priorities to help identify, develop, and execute new strategies and initiatives to develop the skilled trades workforce.  In this role, you will navigate complex stakeholder relationships across government and private industry, manage standup and execution of new initiatives, perform detailed analysis of regional workforce trends and program performance, and regularly communicate progress and challenges through briefs, analytic products, and decision support for senior client leadership and officials. 

 

This position is fully remote, but requires frequent participation in stakeholder meetings in the Pennsylvania region.
