Qualifications
Required:
- Active TS/SCI clearance or TS/SCI Eligible status
- U.S. Citizens only
- Earned Masters-level degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or a closely related discipline
- Miminum 10 years of relevant System Safety experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, or system engineering of large complex System of Systems
- Experience with professional system acquisition program office communications, documentation, reporting and outreach
Desired:
- Specific work experience supporting system safety design, development and operation of space-based systems
- Familiarity with U.S. Air Force and USSF acquisition policies, protocols, practices, procedures, and processes
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Defense FAR Supplement (DFARSUP) policies, practices and procedures as relate to System Safety

Responsibilities
The Senior System Safety Engineer assists System Acquisition and Systems Engineering teams in taking a multi-discipline approach to system safety requirements engineering, solutions engineering, reliability, resiliency, and analysis. The Engineer works with program and project managers to qualify the safety of the design, development and instantiation of space systems and advanced system capabilities. The Senior System Safety Engineer that we are seeking for this important opportunity will help enable advanced capabilities and proactive protective understanding of how our family of space-based assets and programs operate, interact, and serve our highest priority national defense. The ideal Senior System Safety Engineer shall be an:
- Expert in classified weapon system DoD, Air Force, and SSC system safety policies and procedures
- Expert in space vehicle systems safety considerations, including design requirements, technical review requirements, launch, and launch range safety requirements.
