Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills using both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Proficiency in researching and analyzing highly technical information and systems, and strong interpersonal skills to enable work both independently and as part of a team.
  • US Citizenship is required. Will be subject to a Government investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements to obtain and retain the designated Government clearance (Public Trust).

Desired:

  • Experience supporting FAA Surveillance Radar Systems in all phases and effective communications with operational, technical, and senior management audiences.
  • Experience conducting maintenance in high-impact FAA environments,experience with computer hardware Radar Systems installation, repair, and software radar configurations.
  • Active Public Trust clearance.

Salary transparency pay range for the Washington DC area: $110k-$135k



Responsibilities

The Engineer will bring subject matter and hands-on engineering expertise to the Program Manager and Engineering Leads for legacy FAA Surveillance Radar Programs. Will play a key role in collecting, organizing, and analyzing information in both radar deployment and sustainment phases for engineering support. Analysis will also include monitoring system and NAS performance and offering suggestions for improvement. In addition, will assist the Engineering and Implementation staff to facilitate resolution of technical issues and coordination among multiple FAA organizations, facilities, and vendors. Work with multiple vendors at any given site to prioritize and lead engineering tasks. Responsible for preparing and delivering program documentation such as presentations, briefings, charts, and graphs for executive-level consumption; supporting program meetings by developing and collating required documentation; and reviewing and preparing engineering reports. Additionally, will be responsible for understanding radar system modifications, installation procedures, and perform the implementation of new radar equipment and modifications at various radar sites within the NAS. Up to 50% travel may be required.
