Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, computer science, geospatial or STEM related technical discipline and 5 years of experience (or a MS degree + 3 years).
  • Experience with geospatial analysis including LiDAR, Imagery, DSM, and vector based geospatial data.
  • Understanding remote sensing techniques and applying them to real world problems.
  • Develop innovative ideas to guide future integration of geospatial datasets in defense related modeling.
  • Integrate streamlined geospatial work-flows to support DOD missions and requirements.
  • Familiarity of AI/ML and data science techniques and algorithms.
  • Familiarity developing applications that use containers, micro-services programming, and cloud services.
  • Must be able to work independently and complete tasking with minimum guidance and supervision.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and use of Teams.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist our customer in providing geospatial analysis to support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. The candidate will be asked to:  resolve highly complex technical issues; conduct advanced engineering research; recommend alterations to development and design activities to improve quality of products and/or procedures; prepare technical documentation and presentations to explain the approach, associated assumptions, and conclusions of design and development efforts; and work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge on complex geospatial problem sets.

 

Other responsibilities include:  supporting analysis and development of customer-driven technical geospatial analysis and solutions; providing technical guidance to support DTRA's mission; designing, developing, and integrating geospatial-centric work-flows to support current modeling and algorithms within DTRA; conducting assessments of geospatial libraries and datasets that include LiDAR, imagery, DSM, vegetation, and vector data; evaluating new technology, reviewing existing technology and implementing geospatial solutions; helping guide new innovative solutions and future mission requirements; and understanding current data science and AI/ML principles and applying then to geospatial-based solutions.

 

10-25% travel required.
