Qualifications
Required:
- Enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Intermediate-level Python experience.
- An understanding of the basic principles of machine learning.
- Knowledge of statistic up to and including multivariate statistics.
- Experience with data exploration, visualization, and analysis.
- Demonstrate creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to delve into technical details and translate those into findings and recommendations.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a smart, energetic, and dedicated individual who is either an advanced undergraduate (declared major) or actively pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, or a related field to work alongside an SPA mentor in support of data/algorithm development and analysis for DTRA Research & Development programs. The successful intern will be a quick learner and key contributor to analysis, projects, presentations and discussions.
This internship is primarily in office work with occasional telework allowed. Timeline for this job opportunity: We are currently accepting applications for this paid internship and will make offers contingent on the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance for a summer 2025 start date.
