WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations.
  • Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
  • Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
  • Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/ or helpers. Maintains log of applications and files related reports.
  • Responsible for hand spraying and maintaining proper mixing amounts and application techniques.
  • Keeps up-to-date in knowledge of chemicals/fertilizers that are being applied, reads, understands MSDS safety sheets. 
  • Ensures associates obtain proper license needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations. 
  • Addresses directly all real or perceived environmental concerns.
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Manages department team members 
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables  in situations where only limited standardization exists; interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess a Valid Driver's License, clean driving record and Pesticide Application License or the ability to receive.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four or two-year college or technical school; three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil      science).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and  percent.
