THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under close supervision of attorneys and management (Supervisor in conjunction with Managing Counsel, Partners and Associates), you will provide support to the Litigation Department in the Firm's Washington, DC office. The DC Litigation Department includes several practice areas including, among others, construction, commercial litigation and intellectual property.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
On any given day, you will be working with firm attorneys and colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:
- Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings and trials;
- Assist with organizing case materials and maintaining case records;
- Working with attorneys on discrete research assignments;
- Prepare and review documents for production;
- Assist in preparation and filing of pleadings;
- Retrieve and review pleadings and other case documents;
- Use litigation support software;
- The willingness to support real estate and corporate transactional practices is a plus.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree - A strong desire to attend law school or pursue a long term career as a paralegal is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn proprietary firm software.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a high degree of initiative.
- Independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
- Exceptional analytical ability, critical thinking, independent problem-solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to independently communicate with clients and opposing counsel
- Basic research and internet skills.

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $55,000 annually, which is based on a 40-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Washington, DC. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
