Savage is hiring! We have an opening for an Equipment Operator at our operation in Sunnyside, UT! The Primary responsibilities include Heavy Equipment operation to load/unload coal and oversee coal processing conveyor systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Operate heavy equipment to transfer products to equipment and trucks, including graders, front-end and skid-steer loaders.
• Perform hand labor, repairs, maintenance, and general site clean-up tasks as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
• Conduct daily equipment maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled lubrication and servicing.
• Ensure daily worksite cleanliness and perform duties as outlined in the duty roster.
• Follow directions from the site supervisor and complete all assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure job completion.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Be punctual and adhere to the designated work schedule.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Show a willingness to learn and improve skills for safe and efficient job performance.
• Occasionally operate tractor-trailer combinations.

What You'll Need:

• Willingness to help with all worksite duties that require attention, as directed by the site supervisor and/or operations manager
• Demonstrates worksite dependability by being punctual and present for scheduled work shifts
• Determined to always wear the appropriate and required PPE
• Professionally conduct themselves at all times
• Demonstrates excellent workplace safety, and is dedicated to helping others do the same
• Willingness and ability to follow all rules and procedures as outlined by Savage
• Willingness and ability to work Holidays and weekends
• Able to communicate effectively in English which includes basic skills in reading, writing, and comprehension
• Pass drug/alcohol test as well as any other worksite tests required by Savage

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to work outdoors every day and as a result will be exposed to the elements
• Ability willing and physically able to do the following:
  • Able to lift 50-70 lbs
  • Climb on and off railcars and heavy equipment and tie processing equipment safely
  • Work at heights if required
• Work on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time while performing duties which include walking, standing, and lifting
• Able to use basic hand tools
