Summary:
A strategic Shows & Events Manager with a strong marketing focus is needed to lead impactful online and in-person event experiences. This role develops and executes event strategies, driving user growth, lead generation, and brand awareness while supporting core business goals. This individual will manage the entire event lifecycle, from concept development and budgeting to on-site execution and post-event evaluation. The ideal candidate balances project management expertise, creative vision, and a results-oriented mindset. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including manufacturers, educators, customers, and OMNI channels, will be essential to execute professional beauty shows and achieve sales revenue objectives.
Event Management:
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of IRL, Hybrid, and virtual brand experiences—from significant industry events, company conferences & curated beauty events to live streams and digital activations.
- Deliver high-impact, creative experiences that drive growth & reinforce brand positioning.
- Serve as a producer for virtual, Hybrid & in-person shows ranging from 200-10,000 attendees
- Oversee project timelines to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Act as the main point of contact for venue management, logistics, and food and beverage orders.
- Manage Event/Show registration and lead management; work with brand partners and event platforms to support ticket sales and registration and implement a unified registration system. Implement improvements by utilizing the latest marketplace and industry practices and technology trends.
- Supervise pre-event preparation, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Manage travel, hotel bookings, rooming lists, and activity scheduling.
- Develop and implement strategies to scale event audiences through digital channels. This may include targeted advertising, influencer marketing, and content partnerships
Teams & Vendor Management:
- Collaborate cross-functionally across social media, PR, DDX, and Marketing to support integrated campaigns, event launches, and strategic brand initiatives.
- Identify and secure venues, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Align with Omni-Channels on targets and build strong internal partnerships to drive alignment and execution of event deliverables.
- Developing relationships, liaising, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure optimal terms and efficiencies pre-, during, and post-event.
- Facilitate information flow between Creative Services; source creative assets and information from brands and manage the proofing/approval process of Event/Show assets.
- Act as a liaison between brands, educators, and internal departments. Obtain class descriptions, formats, outlines, bios, etc., from the manufacturer and regional education teams for Event/Show marketing collateral.
Budget Management:
- Manage and reconcile event budgets to optimize spending while meeting financial targets.
- Support (AP) functions, including creating and submitting purchase orders and reconciling event invoices.
Post-Event Analysis:
- Track and report impact across event growth and performance metrics, connecting each initiative to business goals like reach, engagement, and client acquisition.
- Track and analyze key metrics related to digital event performance, including website traffic, social media engagement, and lead generation. Generate reports and provide insights to optimize future events.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or professional industry certification strongly preferred. High school education or GED required.
- At least 3-5 years of related professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years specialized in show/event management. Experience in the Professional Salon Industry preferred.
- Strong presentation Skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills - must effectively hold internal and external stakeholders accountable to deadlines while maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong demonstrated planning skills, with particular attention to detail.
- Adaptability to the changing demands of live events.
- Vendor/venue negotiation experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
- Ability to travel 50% or more of the year.
- CMP License a plus
- Ability to list 25 lbs.
