- Current California Nuclear Medicine license (RHN)
- National Certification (CNMT) or ARRT (N)
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards
- Valid Driver's License
- Job Details
- Under minimal supervision performs nuclear medicine procedures as requested by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Performs a combination of duties, depending on the area of assignment.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients on his/her unit.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs nuclear medicine procedures by administering radiopharmaceuticals.
- Performs imaging procedures using gamma cameras and computer analysis.
- Completes necessary documentation.
- Cares for patients during procedures and prepares them for exams.
- Reports changes in the patient's condition for follow-up.
- Transports patients and provides care during transportation when necessary.
- Assists patients by lifting and moving them off and on imaging tables.
- Cleans work area and replenishes supplies.
- Assists with emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
- Assists with the scheduling of patient exams.
- Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services.
- Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials and calculates doses.
- Calibrates equipment.
- Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
- Work locations may include one or more outpatient imaging facilities.
- Job Requirements
- At least one (1) year experience as a licensed technologist.
- Knowledge of cardiac and general Nuclear Medicine.
- Preference for candidates with experience in cardiac Nuclear Medicine, particularly Lexiscans.
