- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the populations served.
- This includes demonstrating knowledge of the principles of caring for the following, but not limited to, geriatric, pediatric, developmentally-challenged, special needs and physically-challenged, and various diagnoses, interventions, procedures and operations performed for patients served.
- Uses the PACS system to transmit and print/burn CD's of patient imaging studies.
- May assist patients by lifting and moving them off and on the procedural surfaces and prepares patients for procedures.
- Assists technologists with PACS, room cleaning and patient prep.
- Assists Radiologists with the scheduling of patients for US and MRI biopsies and coordinates consultations with oncologists and surgeons for follow up care.
- Prepares Spa in the morning (including making coffee) and cleans Spa at the end of the day (puts cushions away, etc.).
- May transport patients by wheelchair, or assisted walking.
- Registers/pre-registers patients for procedures and exams. Pre-logs patients.
- Enters exams into computer system.
- Reviews orders for the following day and verify order coincides with exam scheduled, including calling physician's offices for updated orders.
- Greets, identifies and confirms exam with patient.
- Confirms patient appointments.
- Schedules patient exams as needed.
- Answers all telephone calls promptly and courteously using script when provided.
- Job Requirements
- Spanish bilingual-Required
- Worker will be checking in patients in Meditech, handing patients a tablet to fill out, assisting patients with the tablet, and passing the patient to registration.
- BLS-AHA-Required
- Medical terminology is required.
- One (1) year of recent experience as a Tech Assistant is required.
