SAIC has an immediate and funded opening on a very long-term contract! We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and energetic Senior Level Tech Writer! In this role you will provide technical writing support to a 24/7/365 Mission Operations Center. You will be responsible for leading the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation to support 60 to 80 different IT systems. You will also work closely with IT professionals from a wide array of fields such as Network Administration, System Integration, Network Engineering, System Administration, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering.
Position duties will include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications utilizing information from existing system manuals, network and end-to-end drawings, consultations with technical personnel and other available resources
- Assist in the creation of training materials such as pamphlets, presentations and tests
- Creating and adhering to documentation standards and guidelines
- Maintain a current internal documentation library
Qualifications
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph to be considered for this position
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience is required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Technical Writing
- Proficient in multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with Visio for end to end documentation
- Ability to create SOP's and User Guides
- Bachelor's Degree, or experience may be substituted for degree
Desired Qualifications:
- Graphic Design experience
- Proficient in Open-Source word processing tools such as OfficeSuite
