SAIC is hiring for a Systems Engineer Principal who is familiar with SATCOM systems that will provide specialized engineering and management expertise to assist the Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence (PEO C4I) PMW/A 170 Technical Director, Assistant Program Management-Engineering (APM-E), and other PMW/A 170 Government and contractor personnel with engineering management, planning, design, and research for PMW/A 170 capabilities, mission areas, and objectives. This position will work directly with the Resilient Command, Control and Communications (RC3) Assistant Program Manager (APM) and APME. This role is an ONSITE position in San Diego, CA.
This role requires less than 10% travel
JOB DUTIES:
- Analyze program office roadmaps and develop strategies to address development opportunities, capability gaps, integration strategies, test plans, obsolescence, and life cycle support
- Assist with coordinating engineering and technical activities, including development and implementation of engineering strategies, capability roadmaps, research on communication and PNT capabilities, Test and Evaluation strategies, Engineering reviews, Integration, Program Objective Memorandum (POM) input and analysis, and other cross- program, cross-portfolio, and cross- organization efforts and initiatives.
- Coordinate across multiple engineering teams for development of technical presentations and documentation, as needed
- Participate in contractor design reviews to include SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR, as needed
- Analyze required system capabilities to determine integration requirements and define challenges and develop plans to address requirements
- Use operational experience and technical expertise to collaborate with the Functional Team Lead for assessing requirements, designing, executing, developing, and integrating technical solutions
- Create and present briefings, participate in internal and external meetings as needed
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience. Years of experience in lieu of degree will be taken under consideration
- Must be a U, S Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI after start
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of US Navy Satellite systems and related subsystem components
- Experience with the DoD Acquisition Life Cycle including experience with Systems Engineering design process/reviews, testing processes
- Understanding of USN Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, waveforms, modems in relation to throughput and data rates with respect to SATCOM capabilities
- USN/USMC operational experience to include Naval organizational structures, missions, tactical operations/situations
- Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills
- Must be a proactive self-starter, work well independently and with teams in a collaborative environment
- Experience with PEO C4I/NAVWAR Systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, to include Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
